Statement of Faith
As a Christian congregation, we affirm our faith in the fundamental truths of Christianity, as revealed in Holy Scripture and articulated throughout the history of the Church. We offer this statement to our church members and the wider community as a declaration of our beliefs.
The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). Through the Scriptures, God reveals Himself to humanity, provides us with the path to salvation, and guides us in living a life pleasing to Him.
The Trinity
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Our God is the Creator of all things, omnipotent, all-knowing, and ever-present. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, sharing the same divine nature, in perfect unity of purpose and love.
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and taught with authority. His sacrificial death on the cross paid the penalty for our sins, and His bodily resurrection on the third day offers us new life. We await His promised return in power and glory, commonly referred to as the Second Coming of Christ, to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal kingdom.
Salvation
We believe that human beings are born with a sinful nature, separated from God by our sin. Salvation—forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God—is found solely through faith in Jesus Christ. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is a free gift for all who repent and believe the gospel.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. To believers, the Holy Spirit acts as a Comforter, a Guide, and an Advocate, empowering them for service and bearing witness to Jesus Christ.
Water Baptism by Submersion
We believe that water baptism by submersion is an outward act that symbolizes a believer's identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Baptism is a declaration to the world of one's faith in Christ and is done in obedience to His command.
Sanctification
We believe in the ongoing process of sanctification, whereby believers are set apart for God’s purposes and are enabled to grow into the likeness of Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit. Sanctification is the will of God for all His children and is nurtured in a life of prayer, worship, and the study and application of Scripture. In proclaiming this statement of faith, we align ourselves with the timeless truths professed by followers of Christ through the centuries, and we commit to upholding and sharing these truths in our words and actions. Our prayer is that the lives of our members reflect the love and grace of God that is revealed to us through Jesus Christ.
